Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya inches towards UFC stardom in the middleweight division. Bringing the heat with three impressive victories in the UFC have taken him to the top 10 in the middleweight division and threatens to end 2018 with the most important win so far.
Adesanya will face Derek Brunson at UFC 230, held at centre stage New York’s Madison Square Garden on November 4 (AU).
"So I want to see his face after that first round, but I don't know if he is going to last that long. When he comes out, (What do you call it?) Snotty nose or whatever. He is always up here when he tries to fight so he better drop the chin – or I will." The Auckland-based middleweight says in an interview with NZHerald.co.nz
Adesanya and Brunson are two of the UFC's top ranked middleweights, will face in the octagon at UFC 230 on November 4 in a three-round bout. Adesanya is undefeated with 14 wins and since he came to the UFC it was impossible not to consider him a prospect to follow with his 12 wins by knockout.
He is an expert in several mixed martial arts disciplines including muay thai, kickboxing, boxing and tae kwon do that has not only conquered the fans with his funny style, but his charisma also collaborated and the exchange of statements through social networks with Brunson has put a lot of emotion to this upcoming match.
The pair have continued to trade fiery, meme-filled insults across social media since. Adesanya enjoys the trash talking offline and online as well. “It’s all practice - we’ve been doing this for years, our coach (Eugene Bareman) just give is s*** but that’s why on the mic they can’t f*** with me, because I have to deal with these guys every day.”
The Anzac Takeover continues to dominate the UFC with Adesanya one of the several fighters training out of Auckland’s City Kickboxing who have upcoming UFC bouts, with Kai Kara-France on the Adelaide card on December 2 UFC Fight Night 142 and Dan ‘Hangman’ Hooker in UFC on Fox 31 Milwaukee card on December 16.
