Kai Kara France has his first appointment with the UFC.
Officially announced this morning, the newly-signed Kiwi flyweight will make his promotional debut against Iranian-born Australian Ashkan Mokhtarian at UFC Adelaide on December 2.
After his overwhelming success in the Oceanic region, France’s addition to the UFC’s roster last month came as little surprise. True to his moniker, “Don’t Blink” has established a reputation for his precision and power. The 25-year-old has banked 17 professional wins, comprised of nine knockouts and three submissions.
Although it will be his official debut, France’s introduction to the UFC fan base came during his appearance on The Ultimate Fighter 24 in 2016, where he claimed the only knockout of the season against Terrence Mitchell in the first round of the show.
At UFC Adelaide, France will look to pick up his sixth-straight win against Mokhtarian, while Mohktarian will look to get his first UFC victory.
After signing with the UFC last year with an impressive 13-1 record, “The Assassin” has fallen short in his two fights with the promotion. The 32-year-old lost a unanimous decision to John Moraga last June and was knocked out by Ryan Benoit in November.
A light heavyweight bout between Australian debutant Jim Crute and Scotsman Paul Craig will feature on the card. Another flyweight bout between Ben Nguyen and former title contender Wilson Reis has been targeted, per Combate.
UFC Adelaide, or UFC Fight Night 142, will be held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, South Australia on December 2 (AU).
