Pro Fighter Sparring MOM: 30 Day Muay Thai Challenge

My relationship with my mother has always been great, but I recently had the chance to reconnect and strengthen my relationship with her through a passion of mine. With all the craziness that's been happening during this COVID-19 lockdown, one great thing came out of it: training martial arts with my mom.

Since I returned home from Asia, I decided to head back home and self quarantine with my mom. Just like everyone else, we were getting tired of staying in and eating mass amounts of food daily! Since my mom wanted to lose weight, and I wanted her to stay physically active for health reasons, I decided to teach her some Muay Thai! Now coaching someone from scratch can be a tricky endeavor, but my mom was a really good sport.

She was extremely consistent with her training of one hour a day, six days a week, in our 30 day challenge. You'll be able to see some of the basic technique and drills we worked on, how she progressed, and her final test in this short video.

I hope this video inspires others to stay active, no matter your age, but also in finding time to do things you are passionate about, trying something new, and spending more time with your loved ones. Martial arts has benefited my life so much, and I love being able to share this passion of mine with others.
